Alejandro Moro: Wimbledon Final Doorstep

Spanish tennis player Alexander Moro is just one match away from a spot in the Wimbledon final draw after defeating Italy’s Matteo Gigante 7-5 and 6-2 in the second round of the qualifying phase on Wednesday.

Moro, ranked 189th in the world, will face Damir Dzumhur in the final qualifying round of the third Grand Slam of the season on Thursday.

If Moro emerges victorious, he will secure a guaranteed payout of £60,000 (€70,000) for advancing to the first round of Wimbledon, which begins on July 1.

However, Bernabé Zapata’s hopes of progressing to the third round of the Wimbledon qualifying phase were dashed after losing to Italy’s Mattia Bellucci 7-6 (3) and 6-3.
