Albert Dupontel prepares a satire on the Presidential

After the unanimous success of his last film, Farewell Cons (2 million admissions in France, seven 2021 César awards including best film, 7/10 overall rating on the Senscritique social network), Albert Dupontel already seems well advanced on his next film. He never ceases to create masterpieces goodbye up there also knew how to conquer the hearts of the public. For many, Albert Dupontel established himself as one of the few filmmakers capable of creating complete and cinematically accomplished comic fables.

The filmmaker’s eighth feature film will feature Cécile de France and Nicolas Marie in “jubilatory investigation” with the presidential election as a background theme. Cecile of France will embody Miss Pove, a disgraced political journalist placed on the football section, who will be approached to follow the current presidential campaign. Poll favorite (Nicolas Married) is a man of around 50 years old, heir to a wealthy and powerful family and who is just starting out in politics. Troubled by this candidate whom she has known less calm in the past, Miss Pove will embark on an investigation into his person which will be as surprising as it is jubilant.

Near 20 minutes and the Sunday Journal, Albert Dupontel explains wanting: “talk about the people who govern us and who are unable to recognize their mistakes”. He … not “understand more these people unable to carry out coherent speeches and who give blows of truncheons if one contradicts them”.

The feature film, soberly titled “Second Tour”, is expected for the second half of 2023.
