After two consecutive defeats, Delhi managed to clinch victory, but it was undermined by the Lucknow wicket.

Delhi Capitals defeated Lucknow Super Giants by 6 wickets. Lucknow Super Giants had earlier scored 167 runs at their home ground. On the other hand, Delhi’s hunt for the target didn’t get off to a good start as David Warner was eliminated after scoring just 8 runs. After him, Prithvi Shaw took the responsibility but like the previous game, he failed to score a fifty. He returned to the pavilion after scoring 32 runs in 22 balls. Delhi batted very slowly in the first half but after that Rishabh Pant and debutant Jake Fraser McGurk fought in a blistering style and overwhelmed the LSG bowlers. On the one hand, Pant played an innings of 41 runs in 24 balls in which he hit four fours and two sixes. While McGurk scored 55 runs in 35 balls. He also hit two fours and five sixes.

Delhi Capitals’ score in the first 10 overs was 75 runs for 2 wickets but from then on the DC batsmen started gaining momentum. Rishabh Pant and McGurk scored 61 runs in the next 24 balls and in this span of 4 overs, both of them combined for 5 skyscraper sixes and 4 fours. But with McGurk being dismissed in the 15th over and Rishabh Pant being dismissed in the next over, the match seemed stuck. There was a 77-run partnership between Pant and McGurk. Delhi needed just 10 runs in 3 overs. Shay Hope and Tristan Stubbs were in no hurry and secured Delhi victory by 6 wickets with 11 balls remaining. Kuldeep Yadav broke the back of LSG’s batting line-up while bowling for Delhi Capitals. His bowling to Nicholas Pooran was the most memorable moment of the game. He took 3 wickets for just 20 runs in 4 overs.
