Afghan interim government, Gulbuddin Hekmatyar’s important announcement

KABUL: Hezb-e-Islami chief Gulbuddin Hekmatyar has announced his support for the Afghan interim government.

According to details, Gulbuddin Hekmatyar in a statement announced his support for the Taliban interim government and said that Hezb-e-Islami would support the new Afghan government.

Gulbuddin Hekmatyar directed Hezb-e-Islami workers and leaders to co-operate with the interim government, as for the first time in five decades a well-represented cabinet has been formed.

Hezb-e-Islami chief advised the Taliban to establish diplomatic relations with all countries, and that the interim administration put the interests of the Afghan people first.

Earlier on August 21, former Afghan Prime Minister and Hezb-e-Islami leader Gulbuddin Hekmatyar hinted at supporting the Taliban government in a meeting with Taliban leader Khalil-ur-Rehman Haqqani.

It should be noted that the swearing-in ceremony of the new government of Afghanistan has been postponed, while the United States has announced its continued support to the Afghan government, a State Department spokesman said yesterday, reviewing relations with the new Afghan government ۔
