The Catalan athlete will be in charge of leading the Spanish delegation that will parade through the National Stadium in Beijing next Sunday, February 20. That day will bring to a close a historic Olympic event that has made Beijing the first city in the world to host both the summer and winter Olympics.
Adrián Díaz has played in Beijing 2022 his second Olympic Games, achieving a historic eighth place. Eight years earlier, the one from Barcelona competed alongside Sara Hurtado in Sochi 2014, where they finished in thirteenth position.
His election as bearer of the Spanish flag in the Closing Ceremony is a recognition of his long sports career as a figure skater and everything he has done for and for Spanish sport during all these years.
