The Board of Directors of the Association of Sports Writers of Santo Domingo (ACD) will present awards to outstanding members during the years 2020 and 2021. The activity will take place starting at 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday, March 31. the currents in the Dominican Sports Hall of Fame.
Among the awards, the only delivery was that corresponding to the Chronicler of the year 2019, while for the following two years fifteen outstanding partners will be awarded, seven from 2020 and eight from 2021.
“The Covid-19 pandemic totally turned the world upside down causing many activities to be cancelled. That is why we will take the opportunity to deliver the highest award of the year 2019, as well as the recognition of 15 colleagues divided into the years 2020 and 2021, including in both the Chronicler of the Year”, highlights the directive in a statement sent to the media.
In the middle of the activity, a video “in memoriam” will be presented to remember the recently deceased members.
The executive meeting was attended by President Jorge Torres Ocumárez, First Vice President Neftalí Ruiz, Second Vice President Natacha Batista, Secretary General José Antonio Mena, Vice Secretary Fernando Ravelo Jana, Treasurer Porfirio de Jesús, as well as members Rafael Díaz and Thomas Acevedo.
A follow-up commission was formed during the meeting and will include President Torres, Deputy Secretary Ravelo Jana, Treasurer De Jesús and Member Acevedo. The master of ceremonies will be José Antonio Mena, general secretary.

The executive committee made a call to the members so that they acquire their new card and catch up on the payment of dues. Among the following plans is the Athlete of the Year award ceremony and a party to bid farewell to the year. Similarly, the executive of the ACD invited its partners to acquire the international card of the Aips, an entity that brings together the associations of sports writers in the world. For such purposes, they must communicate with President Torres and deposit the corresponding payment.
