ACB Tribute to San Emeterio

After 20 seasons and 642 games in the Endesa League, Fernando San Emeterio announced his retirement this summer from the fields, going on to become assistant coach of Valencia Basket, his last club on the floor.

The ACB, on behalf of all the clubs, will deliver a recognition at the break of the first official game of the new season, the semifinal of the Endesa Super Cup that will face Barça and Valencia Basket.

Fernando San Emeterio has had a legendary race. Since his debut in the 2001-02 season in Valladolid, he has added 20 seasons of very high performance, successes and awards.

In total he has accumulated 642 games in the Endesa League, 5,846 points, 1,991 rebounds, 1,106 assists and a PIR of 6,705 in 14,808 minutes of play, divided into Valladolid (2001-2006), Girona (2006-2008), Baskonia (2008-2015) and Valencia Basket (2015-2021).

Saint Emeterio proclaimed himself champion of the Endesa League on two occasions, in 2010 with Baskonia and in 2017 with Valencia Basket. His 2 + 1 final that earned the Vitoria team the title in the 2010 final is one of the most iconic moments of the history of the competition.

In addition, ‘San Eme’ has conquered a Copa del Rey (2009, Baskonia) and two Endesa Super Cups (2008 with Baskonia and 2017 with Valencia Basket), being named MVP of the ACB in the 2010-11 season. In Europe he has won a Eurocup (Valencia Basket, 2019) and a FIBA ​​Eurocup (Girona, 2007).

With the San Emeterio National Team he has achieved two golds (2011 and 2015) and two bronzes (2013 and 2017) Europeans, in addition to silver in the Olympic Games in 2012.
