AC Milan’s restructuring plan for the summer: change of coach and sale of millions

As La Gazzetta dello Sport reports, AC Milan is in the midst of a restructuring plan for next season. Gerry Cardinale, the club’s owner, along with Zlatan Ibrahimovic, his right-hand man in sports management, are considering significant changes after a disappointing season.

One of the key changes being considered is the replacement of coach Stefano Pioli, whose position is in doubt due to the team’s erratic results. Milan were nowhere near contention for the Serie A title and their UEFA Champions League group stage exit has increased the pressure on Pioli. The club has three options to replace him in the summer: Antonio Conte, Thiago Motta and Julen Lopetegui.

A blast, on offer in summer

In addition to the changes in the coaching staff, there is a possibility that AC Milan will let key players leave in order to finance possible new signings. Three notable names that could leave the club in the summer are: Rafael Leao, Mike Maignan and Theo Hernández. These players are being closely watched by prominent clubs on the international scene, with PSG and Chelsea interested in Leao, while Maignan and Hernández are in Bayern Munich’s sights.

With this restructuring strategy, AC Milan wants to once again compete in the elite of Italian and European football. The changes on the bench and squad could mark a new direction for the Rossonero club next season as they hope to regain their position among the main title contenders.
