Riyadh: A policeman who stopped a young man scratching a tire on the road with a pistol was awarded a high honor. Citizens are also praising the said policeman.
According to the Saudi website, a traffic official at Saudi Arabia’s Al-Dariyah Commissionerate pulled out a pistol to scratch a local youth and prevent him from escaping. The video went viral on social media.
The video shows a young man scratching a tire in al-Dariya, stopped by a police officer and pulled out a pistol as he tried to flee.
Users on social media appreciated the prompt and timely action of the policeman and said that if the policeman did not stop the young man from scratching the tires, the lives of passers-by would be in danger. The action taken by the policeman is commendable.
Earlier, the traffic department said in a statement that Riyadh traffic police had arrested the driver of the vehicle, which was scratching tires in al-Dariyah and endangering the safety of passers-by.
Another image has gone viral on social media, with Riyadh Police Director Maj. Gen. Fahad al-Mutairi and Riyadh Traffic Acting Director Brigadier Muhammad al-Dosari honoring traffic officer Abdul Salam al-Sunitan, who stopped a young man from scratching a tire.
