Dhaka: Petrol prices in Bangladesh have increased by more than 50 percent.

According to the details, the Bangladeshi government has increased the prices of petroleum products by more than 50 percent, to 130 taka per liter of petrol.

The price of petrol per liter in Bangladesh has reached 307 Pakistani rupees, experts say that the increase in the prices of petroleum products will cause further inflation.

After the announcement of a hike in the prices of petroleum products, motorcyclists flocked to fuel stations across the country, with some pumps stopping sales, sparking protests.

According to the foreign news agency, the Bangladesh Ministry of Energy has increased the prices of petroleum products by 51.7 percent, the new prices have been applied from today.

The price of high octane per liter has increased by 51.7 percent to 135 taka (318 Pakistani rupees).

Diesel and kerosene have been hiked by 42.5 per cent to 114 taka (269 Pakistani rupees 36 paise) per litre.
