Washington: Indian-American House of Representatives member Pramila Jayapal has received threatening messages on her phone.
Pramila Jayapal posted the record of phone calls received in the form of a video from her official Twitter account. According to the video, he received calls from five unknown numbers.
In the threatening calls, it can be heard that a man first sold the goods and then said that you better go back to your native country of India or your fate will be dangerous.
Typically, political figures don’t show their vulnerability. I chose to do so here because we cannot accept violence as our new norm.

The member of the House of Representatives captioned the post: ‘Usually political figures don’t show their weakness but I chose to because we cannot accept violence in any form’.
Pramala Jayapal added that we cannot accept the racism and sexism that fuel this violence.
55-year-old Pramila Jayapal is the first Indian-American woman to represent Seattle in the House of Representatives.
