A bridge under construction in India collapsed for the second time

Bhagalpur: An under-construction bridge in the Indian state of Bihar has collapsed for the second time in a year, which was being built at a cost of crores.

According to local media reports, a part of this bridge, which was being prepared for the movement of large vehicles, suddenly collapsed, in which fortunately no one was injured.

The bridge connecting Sultanganj district to Khagaria was inaugurated in 2014 by state Chief Minister Nitish Kumar. It is being developed at a cost of around 1710 crores (INR).

Last year too, a part of it collapsed during construction, which caused severe damage to the government exchequer.

Taking notice of the bridge collapse for the second time, Bihar Chief Minister sought a report from the concerned authorities.

A video of the under-construction bridge collapsing was recorded by a citizen and shared on social media, which immediately went viral. Consumers are criticizing the poor performance of the government.
