Renato Tapia Departs Celta after Four-Year Stint, Reflects on Emotional Goodbye
Renato Tapia has bid farewell to Celta, bringing an end to his four-year tenure with the club. In an emotional statement, Tapia expressed his gratitude and sadness as he departs, citing the club’s role in allowing him to fulfill one of his dreams.
“With my heart in my hand, with a lot of sadness but at the same time with a lot of gratitude, it was time to say goodbye to the club that opened the doors for me to fulfill one of my dreams, to play in the league,” Tapia said.
Despite the emotional goodbye, Tapia insists he is leaving with a clear conscience, looking back on his time with Celta with fond memories. “I take with me the best memories of all the seasons, in adverse and positive situations. They were years of a lot of learning, both in sports and personally with the group,” he added.
Tapia took the opportunity to express his gratitude to those who have supported him during his time at Celta. “I wish the best to my teammates, physiotherapists, kit men, technicians, cooks, cleaning staff, gardeners, people close to the club, being able to share day to day life with them has been spectacular. I carry them in my heart,” he said.
In his final message to the fans, Tapia expressed his appreciation for their unwavering support. “I want to tell them that I am very grateful for the affection they have always shown and I am very proud to have represented them, on and off the pitch. I am leaving hoping that they remember Renato the person more than the footballer, I have always thought that is the most important thing. Always Celta,” he said.
