Youtuber sentenced for shipwrecked for views

Washington: A YouTuber who deliberately crashed his plane to the ground for views has been sentenced to 20 years in prison.

According to a foreign news agency report, in November 2021, 29-year-old YouTuber pilot Trevor Daniel Jacob crashed his plane in California to get more views.

The said YouTube video was viewed by more than 3 million people with the theme that I crashed my plane.

The video went viral on social media in which he was seen jumping from the plane wearing a parachute.

Later, the US Federal Aviation Administration accused Jacob of intentionally destroying his plane for YouTube views, which Jacob himself later admitted.

A few weeks after the crash, investigators from the National Transportation Safety Board and the Federal Aviation Administration opened an investigation into the crash and ordered Jacob to secure the wreckage.

After the investigation, it was revealed that the plane’s engine had not failed, but Trevor Jacob had deliberately destroyed the plane to get more views and at the time gave the impression that the plane had crashed accidentally. Trevor Jacob’s license to fly was also revoked.

According to the statement released by the American prosecutor, Jacob Trevor has been sentenced to 20 years in prison for intentionally destroying the plane.
