Collision between two microlights kills four in Spain

Two microlight aircraft collided near an airfield in northeastern Spain on Sunday, killing four passengers, regional authorities said. Firefighters found a burning aircraft in a wooded area near Moia airfield, north of Barcelona, ​​after being alerted by a witness who saw the microlight losing altitude and crashing, said the regional government of Catalonia.

“Once the fire was extinguished, the firefighters found two dead bodies inside the microlight,” added the same source. A few hours later, firefighters found a second microlight aircraft that had crashed, with two dead people inside, about 300 meters from the first. Authorities, who have opened an investigation, believe the two planes collided in mid-air.
