The Bihar School Examination Board declared the Class 12 Intermediate results for 2026 on March 23 at 1:30 PM local time. The overall pass percentage reached 85.19 percent, continuing a trend of prompt evaluations by the state education authority. The evaluations were completed within 25 days of the final exams concluding on February 13.

Female students outperformed their male counterparts, recording an 86.23 percent pass rate compared to 84.09 percent for boys. The board processed results for hundreds of thousands of candidates across the science, arts, and commerce streams.

Aditya Prakash Aman secured the top overall rank and led the science stream with a score of 96.20 percent, totaling 481 marks. Nishu Kumari secured the highest marks in the arts stream with 95.8 percent, while Aditi Kumari topped the commerce stream with 96 percent. The board confirmed that a total of 26 students placed in the top five ranks across all streams. Top-ranking students will receive cash prizes of up to 200,000 rupees, alongside laptops and Kindle e-readers.

Following the declaration, the board announced the schedule for scrutiny, special examinations, and compartment examinations. Students dissatisfied with their initial scores can apply online for answer sheet re-checking between March 25 and April 2, 2026.

During the same eight-day window, the board will accept applications for the Intermediate Special Exam and the Compartment Exam. The special exam caters to students who missed the main examination or failed to complete administrative forms, while the compartment exam is designated for students who failed in one or two specific subjects.

The rapid evaluation process aligns with broader administrative shifts across the world to digitize and expedite localized academic testing. Officials established a target date of May 31, 2026, to publish the results of the special and compartment exams. This timeline is designed to ensure students receive their finalized academic records in time to secure university admissions for the current academic session.
