Dominicana overcomes the Atlanta Braves 9-0 with pure planks

The Dominican Republic baseball team defeated the Atlanta Braves 9-0, in the first warm-up game corresponding to training sessions prior to the world baseball classic.

Robinson CanĂ³ went 1-3, with a three-run home run and scored another to lead the tricolor victory while Nelson Cruz, went to the street pinch-hitting.

Cristian Javier pitched in two and two-thirds innings, with a strikeout. While Roansy Contreras worked in three innings with four strikeouts.

Teoscar HernĂ¡ndez and Julio RodrĂ­guez drove in 1 run each.

Jeremy Celedonio, a player on loan from the Braves in the game, hit a two-run homer to make it 8-0.

Ketel Marte and Jean Segura connected for 3-3, also playing as substitutes.

Tomorrow, the Dominican team will face the Minnesota Twins, a game scheduled at 2:05 in the afternoon.

That game will be the last warm-up match, prior to the opening day in which Sandy AlcĂ¡ntara will face Venezuela.
