In their second match, he scored 36 points, grabbed 13 rebounds, and blocked 4 shots, earning a PIR of 44 in just 23 minutes of play. Standing at 2.20m tall, Zhang Ziyu has averages of 27.5 points, 10 rebounds, and 1.5 assists per game playing an average of 17.9 minutes.
Zhang Ziyu’s rise to fame began in 2021, when he was just 14 years old, after dazzling in the final of the Chinese national championship with 42 points, 25 rebounds, and 6 blocks.
His parents, Yu Ying and Zhang Yuquan, were both professional basketball players who represented China internationally. His father, Zhang Yuquan, stood at an impressive 2.13m tall, while his mother, Yu Ying, stood at 1.98m tall.
At just 14 years old, Zhang Ziyu’s talent and height began to attract attention, and he quickly rose through the ranks to become one of the most dominant players in the Chinese national championship.
