Sanjay Leela Bhansali Didn’t Like ‘I Dev D’, Anurag Kashyap Reveals

In fact, in the year 2002, under the direction of Sanjay Leela Bhansali, superstar Shah Rukh Khan, Aishwarya Rai Bachchan and Madhuri Dixit, came the movie ‘Dev Das’ which turned out to be a huge hit. On the other hand, Anurag Kashyap directed the modern version of ‘Dev D’, a classic Bengali novel by writer Sarat Chandra Chattopadhyay. The modern novel adaptation of her was done by Anurag Kashyap through this film. Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s reaction to ‘Dev D’ released in the year 2009 was very different. In a recent interview given to Unfiltered by Samdish, Anurag Kashyap has said that he (Sanjay Leela Bhansali) used to hate him. According to him, I have ruined Paro and Chandramukhi, the main characters of his Devdas.

He didn’t ask me to do this, he asked me to get Dev D’s co-writer, Vikramaditya Motwane. However, Anurag has further said that Sanjay Leela Bhansali is very talented and when it comes to music and choreography, he is second to none.
