93.3% of Edeeste users in La Altagracia and La Romana do not have electricity

The Fiona impact report notes that el 45.37% of Edeeste’s circuits are out of service.

Of a total of 216 circuits in the Edeeste concession, there are 98 outside the National Interconnected Electric System (SENI).

In the provinces of La Altagracia and La Romana there are 93.33% of Edeeste users without service. In San Pedro, 81% and in Hato Mayor almost 67% do not have electricity.

As long as Edesur only has 4 circuits affected, equivalent to 3.23% of total users (31,432 clients). The most affected are in Villa Altagracia, Neiba and Barahona.

Edenorte has 13% of its users without service,that is, 154,633 clients, out of a total of 1,235,848 clients.

The winds and rains hurricane fiona affected 43 branches and left 5 circuits out of a total of 178 circuits. In Edenorte, more than a million customers have energy.

According to the Emergency Operations Center (COE), the effects of Hurricane Fiona throughout the country, so far, have left the balance of one person deceased 12,485 displaced persons, two isolated communities and all provinces on alert.

Following the passage of Fiona 2,497 homes have been affected and another 457 affected, of the total four homes were completely destroyed; other damage was reflected in four bridges, 128 branches of electrical circuits and three aqueducts.
