A 62-year-old man is in critical condition this Sunday, fighting for his life in intensive care. He suffered severe head trauma and needs a machine to help him breathe. His injuries stem from a traffic accident that happened on Saturday evening.
The incident occurred around five o’clock in the afternoon in the Pocitos area. The man had just stepped off a bus at the stop located at the intersection of 21 de Setiembre and Libertad. He then attempted to cross the street by walking out from behind the bus. A 43-year-old taxi driver, traveling on 21 de Setiembre, told police he did not see the man emerge and struck him.
Witnesses at the scene confirmed the victim tried to cross right after getting off the bus. He fell hard after the impact. Paramedics quickly arrived in an ambulance to provide medical help.
