Riyadh: 6 new conditions have been imposed for barber shops in Saudi Arabia.
According to the Urgent website, the Saudi Ministry of Local Government and Rural Settlement Affairs and the Ministry of Commerce have announced six basic conditions regarding barber shops.
These terms require barbershops to display price lists in a prominent place, and to accept payment by card.
Standard tissue paper will be used instead of towels, medicated sprays will be used to clean shaving machines.
For the health and safety of customers, barbers will use disposable razors, except for barbershops that use special shaving kits.
Rust-proof shaving machine shall be used, no medical service shall be provided for urgent diseases.
Barbershop workers must also obtain a health certificate, which states that the worker is immune to communicable diseases.
The ministries have directed that complaints should be filed if customers do not see the price list displayed in a barbershop, and online payment is not available.
The Ministry of Commerce and the Ministry of Local Government have warned that action will be taken against the violation of the above regulations.
