6.1 magnitude earthquake shakes Iran

Tehran: Five people were killed and several others injured in an earthquake in southern Iran.

According to foreign media reports, a magnitude 6.3 earthquake shook southern Iran, injuring several people. Mehrdad Hassanzadeh, head of emergency affairs in Hormozgan province, told state TV that five people were killed and more than 20 were injured in the quake.
