Srinagar: It has been 33 years since the martyrdom of the brave Kashmiri leader Ashfaq Majeed Wani.

According to the details, it has been 33 years since the martyrdom of brave Kashmiri leader Ashfaq Majid Wani, from Ashfaq Majidwani to Burhan Wani, the history of freedom movement in the valley is being written in blood.

Ashfaq Majeed Wani was born on September 5, 1966 in Kosaraibala, Srinagar, he was an excellent player in football, table tennis and marathon, he won the first position in the inter-state marathon tournament in 1985.

Ashfaq Majeed Wani was greatly affected by the martyrdom of the well-known Kashmiri leader Maqbool Butt in 1984, after which the Indian Army arrested Ashfaq Majeed and hundreds of activists on March 23, 1987.

In response to Indian tactics, Ashfaq Majidwani joined the Jammu and Kashmir Liberation Front and became an active member of the Azadi movement.

Ashfaq Wani’s 3-year struggle breathed a new spirit of freedom movement in the Kashmir Valley, under his leadership, thousands of youths joined the Kashmir Freedom Movement, according to Indian official sources, more than 10,000 Kashmiri youths joined the Kashmir Freedom Movement.

On March 30, 1990, at the age of 23, Ashfaq Majeed Wani was martyred in the third fast of Ramadan in 1990.

According to his diary, martyrdom while fasting in the month of Ramadan was his heartfelt desire, violence broke out in Parwadi Bharma on the martyrdom of Ashfaq Majidwani.
