2008: Bill Gates warns female employees of inappropriate emails

Microsoft has revealed that Bill Gates sent inappropriate e-mails to a female office worker in 2007 to which he was issued a warning in 2008.

According to foreign news agency Wall Street Journal, Microsoft spokesman Frank Shaw confirmed that Bill Gates was also a full-time employee and chairman of the company at the time. Bill Gates emailed the woman to meet outside the office.

The following year, the company became aware of the emails and group executives told Gates that it was inappropriate, to which Bill Gates admitted his mistake and assured not to do it again.

No action was taken by the company at the time of the matter.

It should be noted that Bill Gates left the post of president in 2008, after which he remained on the board of directors of Microsoft till March 2020.

The former chairman of Microsoft is one of the richest people in the world and his wife Melinda announced their divorce in May 2021 after 27 years of marriage.
