16 mujeres, a por los 561 kilómetros entre Madrid y Gijón con el reto #madridgijonnonstop

Raquel López, executive director of MAMIfit, is about to start a challenge in the company of 15 other women. On Thursday, May 26, these brave women will leave the Plaza Mayor in Madrid, at 06:00 in the morningand will travel the 561 kilometers that separate this area from Gijón, the destination they want to reach Saturday the 28th in the late afternoon.

This team of runners has been preparing for a year thanks to the MAMIfit Run & Fun running club. The objective of this club is to promote this sport, but with special care to the pelvic floorsince, being an impact sport, this must be compensated with specific exercises for the area.

If last year the challenge was to run his first marathon in Valencia, this time they have decided to go further. In a total of 55 stages, without rest, day and night, they will run in relays accompanied by 9 hares, the term used in the running world to describe the people who accompany and set the pace. After an arduous work of preparation, review of the different pathsthey will load their motorhomes to advance in their objective.

Madrid – Gijón, a tribute

Madrid- Gijon; Gijón – Madrid is the route that Raquel, like so many young Asturian people -known as the ALSA generation-, took for many years: she left her homeland to go to Madrid to carve out a future, in this case as a professional dancer (his dream at the time). Today, a few years later, and after having walked that path hundreds of times, she does it again accompanied by this group of brave people to pay tribute to her land.

This challenge Raquel’s three great passions: sports, women and Asturias, and also join adidas Run For The Oceans projectwhose objective is to end plastic waste and promote, through exercise, greater awareness and action to take care of our oceans.
