13- and 17-year-old boys arrested over Florida school shooting threat

Two 13- and 17-year-old students were arrested and charged in court Thursday after police identified them as the alleged perpetrators of a threat of shooting at a Martin County High School, located in the city of Stuart (East from Florida).

Police found a firearm in the bedroom of the younger of the two, according to the county sheriff’s office.

The 13-year-old boy was charged with possession of a firearm and the 17-year-old for posting a written threat on social media.

According to the Sheriff’s Office, the agents began to track the threat as soon as it was posted on the networks last night and at three in the morning today they had already identified the two alleged perpetrators, who were arrested.

The weapon found in the 13-year-old student’s room is believed to be stolen, a statement from the sheriff’s office said.

Neither of the two detainees, of whom no details have been given, is a student at Martin County High School and the reason for the threat is unknown until now.
