On the same day, 12 Bangladeshi nationals were arrested from separate places on charges of illegal entry into India.
On Thursday, the Indian Border Guard Force (BSF) arrested ten Bangladeshi nationals from Hakimpur border in Bhomra-Ghojadanga area of India and Bangladesh. Among them four women, two children and four men.
On the other hand, the police arrested two more Bangladeshi nationals from Hakimpur Bazar in Bithari Village Panchayat of Basirhat. Seeing 2 youths wandering aimlessly in the market, the police detained them on suspicion. Later on interrogation it was found that they infiltrated from Bangladesh.
In a press release, BSF said that 10 residents of Satkhira and Khulna areas of Bangladesh were arrested from Hakimpur border. They entered India illegally through brokers in search of work late on Wednesday night. At that time BSF patrol forces arrested them. BSF handed over the arrested to Basirhat Police Station on Thursday. Later the police produced them in the court. The court ordered each of them to undergo judicial custody for 14 days on charges of illegal entry.
