The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has released the list of central player contracts for the year 2023-24. While many new and young players have found a place in it, some players have been shown the way out of the central contract. In the annual contract list published by the BCCI, players are divided into four different grades: A+, A, B and C. Players who play in all three formats have a place in A+. This time, Yashasvi Jaiswal’s name is also included among the new players, having been included in the central contract list in the B grade. Chief among the released players are Cheteshwar Pujara, Shreyas Iyer and Ishan Kishan.
These 11 players received a place for the first time
Among the 11 players who got a place for the first time in the annual contract list for the year 2023-24 released by the BCCI, Yashasvi Jaiswal has been included in Grade B. However, in Class C, Rinku Singh, Tilak Verma, Ruturaj Gaikwad, Shivam Dubey, Ravi Bishnoi, Jitesh Sharma, Mukesh Kumar, Prasidh Krishna, Avesh Khan and Rajat Patidar have been given the place. All of these players played in one form or another last year and also contributed to the team’s victory.
These players, including Cheteshwar Pujara, were not given a place
When the list of central contracts was last released, Cheteshwar Pujara, Shreyas Iyer, Umesh Yadav, Shikhar Dhawan, Ishan Kishan, Deepak Hooda and Yuzvendra Chahal were shown the way out. The exclusion of Iyer and Ishaan is considered a big blow to these two players. Let us tell you that as per BCCI’s latest contract, A-Plus grade players get an annual payment of Rs 7 crore, while in A grade, Rs 5 crore, in B grade, Rs 3 crore and in the C class gets 10 crore rupees 1 crore annually.
