Meanwhile, the police have also taken two more people into custody. Shekhar Jyoti Goswami and singer Amritprabha Mahanta were questioned for several days. After these interrogations, they were arrested. They are facing charges under different sections of the Indian Nyaya Sanhita. Munna Prasad Gupta, Special DGP of Assam Police CID, confirmed their arrests to the media. He stated that questioning is still ongoing. An Assam court has sent both Shekhar Jyoti Goswami and Amritprabha Mahanta to 14 days of police remand. They were identified as band members in the case. This isn’t the first time; earlier, the Chief Judicial Magistrate of Kamrup (Metro) district had also sent Shyamkanu Mahanta and Siddharth Sharma to 14 days’ remand.
