ZTE nubia Air Unveiled: Ultra-Slim 5.9mm, Lightweight, IP69K, 120Hz AMOLED.

ZTE, a brand from China, is jumping into the trend of slim, premium smartphone designs. Think of devices like the Samsung Galaxy S25 Edge. Their new nubia Air aims for that sleek feel. The whole phone, camera bump and all, measures 6.7 millimeters thick. But the main body and frame are a super-thin 5.9 millimeters. That’s a tiny measurement for a modern smartphone.

This new phone isn’t just thin; it is also light, weighing only 172 grams. Its aluminum frame helps protect all four corners. The nubia Air boasts an IP68/IP69K rating. This means it is fully protected against fine dust. It can also handle being in 1.5 meters of water for at least 30 minutes. Plus, it can resist high-pressure water at temperatures up to 80 degrees Celsius. You will not have to worry about splashes or dusty conditions.

The nubia Air features a large 6.78-inch AMOLED display. It shows crisp images with a 1,224 × 2,720 pixel resolution. The screen supports a smooth 120 Hz refresh rate, meaning actions look fluid. It can get very bright, reaching 4,500 nits. A layer of Corning Gorilla Glass 7i protects the display from scratches. For security, a fingerprint sensor is built right under the screen. The front camera, good for selfies and video calls, has a 20-megapixel sensor.

On the back, the phone has a main camera with 50 megapixels. There is also a 2-megapixel sensor for measuring depth. A third lens, with 0.08 megapixels, rounds out the camera setup.

Under the hood, the nubia Air uses the Unisoc T8300 chipset. This chip was first shown in March 2025 and is made using 6-nanometer technology. It packs a punch with its processing units.

  • It has two Cortex-A78 CPU cores, which run up to 2.2 GHz.
  • There are six Cortex-A55 CPU cores, running up to 2.0 GHz.
  • Graphics are handled by a Mali-G57 MP2 GPU.

This chipset works with 8 GB of RAM and 256 GB of storage. Keeping the phone powered is a 5,000 mAh battery. It also supports 33 W fast charging, so you can power up quickly.
