Wylie Aronow, one of the co-founders of the successful Yuga Labs, has had to take a step back due to health problems. Yuga Labs is responsible for the Bored Ape Yacht Club (BAYC) and the CryptoPunks, among others. Tricky decision
In a message to his 144,900 followers, Wylie Aronow says it was a difficult decision for him, but that it is better for his health in the long run. Aronow has severe heart problems, the symptoms of which have only worsened in recent months. The founder of Yuga Labs suffers from congestive heart failure, meaning his heart is unable to pump enough blood around the body.
The entrepreneur explains that the symptoms are still mild at the moment, but that he had to make this choice to continue living a normal life. In recent months, the symptoms have gotten a lot worse, so his priorities are now on his health. Aronow hopes to return to Yuga Labs as soon as possible, but isn’t sure when that might be possible again.
Not completely gone
Incidentally, the successful entrepreneur does not completely disappear into the background at Yuga Labs. Aronow will remain on as a strategic advisor and part of the company’s board of directors. In addition, this is not the first time that medical problems have kept him from work. So you see what ultimately the most important things in life are. Success doesn’t feel great if you’re not also healthy.
Previous health problems held him back in his twenties. After those problems were resolved, he worked frantically to catch up. “I didn’t want to waste my second chance at life. I pushed myself beyond my limits and worked 12 hours almost every day. I should have taken advice from others and found balance,” said Aronow.
