A young man, presumed to be involved in a recent bullet attack, was arrested following a police persecution that took place on an interbalnearia route, specifically at kilometer 29. This development comes after a dramatic incident last Sunday, February 16, in the area of Dive, where a vehicle was attacked along Luis Alberto de Herrera Avenue and La Rambla. The vehicle, driven by a member of the drug traffickers of Cerro Norte, was carrying a man, a woman, and a child at the time of the attack.
The detained individual, 22 years old, does not have a prior criminal record. He was arrested on Wednesday while driving a white Citroen car with two minors. Upon noticing the police pursuit, he recklessly crossed several red traffic lights. Journalist Miguel Chagas from News Agency reported that when the police stopped him, the young man initially gave his brother’s name and appeared nervous. The inconsistencies in his story led the police to verify his identity and confirm that he was the person they were seeking.
The minors accompanying him were handed over to a relative, and the detainee is scheduled to declare at the Prosecutor’s Office this Thursday.
