THE xiaomi prepares to reveal the first (prototype) of its electric car already in the next month August 2022. This is one of the most anticipated products of the Chinese giant since Lei Jun declared his intention to invest and succeed in this market.

More specifically, the CEO of Xiaomi promised to invest some 10,000 million dollars in the automotive segment of the brand, Xiaomi Automobile Co. over the next 10 years. Some sources suggest that the Xiaomi car will be based on the MW Motors Maven concept.

The news was advanced for the first time by the publication sine Technology, exclusively. This source points out that the founder of Xiaomi, Lei Jun, will present the first prototype starting next August. It will be, according to the vehicle itself, one of the most remarkable moments in the history of this quality/price smartphone manufacturer.

The same report further suggests that the executive currently spends more than two-thirds of his time at the Xiaomi Auto division headquarters to make sure the project goes as planned. Thus, the brand will be (almost) ready to present the first electric car prototype, a platform for its technologies and an approach to the EV sector.

It should be noted that this is the second instance where an August filing has been suggested. In other words, we now have two different sources to point in this direction, which is why we consider an event dedicated to the automotive sector very likely. However, the first commercial units should only reach consumers from 2024, as planned.

We also know that the brand’s ambitions are to put a total of 300,000 electric vehicles on the road as soon as the production line is in full production. Until then, in a first phase, Xiaomi guarantees that it will be able to put half of that amount, 150,000 electric vehicles, out of the factory per year.
