What do I need to get my driving license?
There are two options depending on what you need: it is a process for the first time or renewal. If it is the first license to process, you must present the theoretical examination and meet these requirements:
- Original birth certificate
- Unique Population Registration Key (CURP) updated and certified by Renapo
- Official identification in force with photography, such as INE, Professional Card, Military Card, or Precartilla
- Proof of address (no more than three months old), such as water, light, or landline receipts
- Non-registration certificate in the National Registry of Food Obligations, issued by the National DIF
- Knowledge examination of the State Transit Regulation (only for procedures for the first time)
- Proof of payment of rights, which you can perform online or directly in the authorized module by credit or debit card
- Payment can be managed through the Portal of the Edomex Mobility Secretariat or during the face-to-face process
In case you already have a license, but it is close to expiring, the renovation procedure requires these documents:
- Previous license of the State of Mexico
- Updated and certified CURP
- Current official identification
- Non-registration certificate in the National Registry of Food Obligations
