Xi Jinping Welcomes Cambodian Royals to Beijing; Pushes Shared Future, 80th Anniversary.

Xi Jinping welcomes the King of Cambodia and the Queen Mother on their visit to Beijing

A warm welcome unfolded in Beijing recently as President Xi Jinping and First Lady Peng Liyuan greeted King Norodom Sihamoni of Cambodia and Queen Mother Norodom Monineath Sihanouk. The royal couple was making another significant visit to the global capital, underscoring a deep friendship between the two nations.

The Chinese leader extended an invitation for King Sihamoni to attend a special event. This event will mark the 80th anniversary of China’s triumph in its fight against Japanese aggression. It also remembers the broader victory in the World Anti-Fascist War, a truly important moment in history.

President Xi took a moment to reflect on his own trip to Cambodia this past April. He warmly recalled the kind reception he received from the King and the Cambodian people. He pointed out that the bond between China and Cambodia has stood strong through many changes in the world. Their friendship, forged through good times and bad, is a precious treasure for both peoples, worth keeping safe.

In a world full of shifts and uncertainties, President Xi urged both countries to remain united. He called for them to continue their long-standing friendship and boost their teamwork. The goal, he said, is to quickly build a future where China and Cambodia share common goals and lasting benefits, no matter what challenges arise. This partnership, he believes, will bring greater good to everyone.

China, President Xi added, fully supports the Cambodian people in choosing their own path. They stand with Cambodia as it seeks long-term peace and stability for its nation.

King Sihamoni expressed his delight at visiting China once more and accepting the invitation to the important anniversary. He explained that Cambodia always sees its relationship with China through a strategic lens. He looks forward to continuing their traditional friendship and helping to build a shared future where both nations thrive together.
