World Cup Qatar 2022: Saudi Arabia confirmed the injury of its captain

Saudi Arabia, Argentina’s first rival in Qatar 2022, confirmed this Monday that its captain Salman Al-Faraj has an injury to his shoulder joint, but he is not ruled out to play the World Cup that will begin next Sunday 20.

The experienced midfielder was replaced in last Sunday’s friendly in a 1-0 win against Iceland in Abu Dhabi after a heavy fall on his left shoulder, and caused concern in the team led by Frenchman Hervé Renard.

The Saudi captain underwent an MRI which determined that he has an injury to his left shoulder joint.

The Al Hilal player, a team led by Ramón Díaz from La Rioja, will continue the “treatment with the medical team” of the selected team, the Saudis reported in the daily part of the squad.

In addition to the captain, Saudi Arabia explained that the striker Saleh Al-Shehri, the defender Sultan Al-Ghanam and the midfielder Nasser Al-Dawsari also train differently due to different ailments.

Next Thursday, the “Green Falcons” will face Panama in Abu Dhabi in a new warm-up friendly for the Qatar 2022 World Cup, in which they will debut against Argentina, on Tuesday 22 at the Lusail Stadium.
