Why Deadpool 3 production is taking so long

monster success of 2016the Dead Pool of Tim Miller received unanimously positive reviews as well as excellent international box office reception with $782 million recipes for only 58 million budget. The fox then launched a second opus two years later with the motto “bigger, faster, stronger”. Result, for 110 million budgetthe Deadpool 2 by David Leitch also appealed to fans of the character and the public in general. Then the fox was redeemed by the juggernaut disney.

Because of this, the rumors surrounding the character have been gargantuan. Many initially felt that the provocative mercenary would end up joining the spans of the mcubut none managed to put it in a box that could work with Thor, Doctor Strange and consorts given its significant graphic violence. Ryan Reynolds always has fun teasing the progress of the project, but nothing tangible has happened so far. Better yet, Insiders well placed to seize the big news from hollywood had assured that the character was going to land for one of the post-credits scenes of Doctor Strange in The Multiverse of Madness laughing handsomely at the new death of Charles Xavier (Patrick Stewart by the way).

The big concern of the fans remained in another point: What if disney smothered the violence of Dead Pool for the benefit of a PG-13 classification in the same way as the other films on the avengers ? Rhett Reeseone of the screenwriters had reassured everyone by stating that the staff of disney was wide open for the film to get the long-awaited R-Rated rating.

In a new interview with the media The Playlist, Rhett Reese wanted to reassure fans about the long pre-production of the feature film. This is not due to possible creative interference between the firm with the big ears and the future film but rather to a long and tedious work of writing:

“We want to make it great. We work on it with Ryan Reynolds all the time, and we have a lot of fun. So hopefully this will move forward and eventually entertain the world. But you know, it’s a marriage between Fox and Disney and they’re two different universes and it’s not easy. But it’s also a wonderful challenge and, you know, high-class problems to be able to merge these worlds. They are two different bureaucracies. It was Fox, and everyone who worked on it changed. It’s those people now [Disney] and these people do things their own way. And we were used to doing things our own way, so there are differences, but I think the big part is that Marvel has been incredibly supportive of us. »

As was the case in 2019 with many feature films being produced by Fox (Artemis Fowl in particular who arrived on Disney+)the change of staff for all these films expected from the mcu and cinema in general have led to heavy delays or the need to thoroughly review elements of the script. No release date has yet been announced for Deadpool 3.
