The schedule for the Over-50 World Cup to be held in India later this year is likely to be announced during the World Test Championship final in London. Jai Shah, secretary of the Board of Control of Cricket in India (BCCI), gave this information after the Extraordinary General Meeting (SGM) of the Board on Saturday.

A decision will also be made regarding the Asian Cup.

The decision on the organization of the Asia Cup 2023 will also be made soon. Members of the Asian Cricket Council, who are here to watch Sunday’s final between Chennai Super Kings and Gujarat Titans, are likely to talk about the Asian Cup. The Asian Cup will take place before the World Cup.

Jai Shah’s Big Statement

Shah said that the venues for the 2023 ICC Cricket World Cup matches will be announced at the press conference during the World Test Championship final. The full tournament schedule will also be released. He said the future of the 2023 Asia Cup will be decided after a meeting between the nations playing the Test and the Associated Nations members of the Asian Cricket Council.

Many more stadiums will be added.

The BCCI secretary informed that considering the adequate facilities for the fans, 15 stadiums have been selected and some more stadiums will be added later. Responsibility for this work has been entrusted to Grant Thornton. BCCI will also announce some special committees within a week that will take care of the work related to the World Cup and Women’s Premier League to be held in India.
