Whatsapp Flows: Booking and information options within Whatsapp
Meta has introduced a new function for WhatsApp. These are WhatsApp flows. With flows, companies should be able to provide their customers with more functions and experiences. Meta is thinking, for example, about the ability to quickly select a seat on the train, order a meal or book an appointment. All of this should be possible directly in WhatsApp, without the user having to leave the chat.
With Flows, companies should also be able to provide their users with versatile menus and customizable forms that are intended to meet a wide range of needs. In the coming weeks, Meta plans to make the new Whatsapp Flows feature available to companies around the world that use the Whatsapp Business platform.
Further innovations
Pay in WhatsApp: Starting today, users in India will be able to add the desired item to their cart and make payment using a supported UPI app, debit or credit card of their choice, etc. Meta works with Razorpay and PayU for this purpose. In India, paying directly in WhatsApp was already possible, but only at a single online supermarket. In addition, you can only order groceries there via WhatsApp.
Whatsapp launched a payment function in Brazil as early as April 2023. You can read more about this in Whatsapp launches payment function: This is how shopping and paying directly in Messenger works. In Germany, paying directly in WhatsApp is not yet possible.
Companies with Meta Verified badges on Whatsapp: Meta allows companies to get verified. This way, users should be sure that they are chatting with the right company. To receive a “Meta Verified” badge, companies must prove their authenticity to Meta. In return, you will receive a verified badge, benefit from improved support for your account and protection against impersonation, as Meta promises. Meta wants to test “Meta Verified” soon for small businesses that use the WhatsApp business app. In the future, the feature will also be available for companies on the Whatsapp Business platform.
