Supporting Venezuela’s Athletes and the National Sports Plan
The Government of Venezuela has reaffirmed its commitment to supporting the country’s athletes and the National Sports Plan. Vice President Delcy Rodríguez led a delegation to the traditional Sports Mass, where she prayed for the protection of the country’s youth and athletes.
A Call for Teamwork and Commitment
At the Sports Mass, Rodríguez emphasized the importance of teamwork and commitment to the development of sports in Venezuela. She also gave thanks for the country’s sporting achievements and prayed for the peace and tranquility of Venezuela.
Arnaldo Sánchez, Minister of Popular Power for Sports, also spoke at the event, highlighting the need for hard work and dedication to achieve success in sports. He emphasized that most sports are team-based and that the star is the team.
Reinforcing the National Route Plan to the Los Angeles Games
The Ministry of Sports and the National Sports Institute met with different federations to reinforce the National Route Plan to the Los Angeles Games. The plan aims to generate mechanisms to support Venezuelan athletes in their preparation for the games.
Arnaldo Sánchez expressed his confidence in the plan, stating that with hard work and commitment, Venezuela can achieve good results in the games.
Motorcycle Pirouettes: A National Sport
In a separate development, Nicolás Maduro decreed the practice of motorcycle stunts as a national sport. The state character of the motorbike pirouettes includes the creation of a national census to define the number of people practicing the activity and the obligation to define spaces in all states and municipalities for its development.
However, the presidential order was later qualified to ensure that motorcycle pirouettes cannot be practiced on public roads without authorization, putting the lives of other users at risk.
