West Indies Squadron: The T20 series between India and the West Indies starts today (July 29). During this, a total of five matches will be played between the two teams. The West Indies Cricket Board has announced a 16-member squad for the series on Thursday. In this, Nicholas Pooran has been given command of the team, while Rovman Powell has been made vice-captain. Explosive hitter Shimron Hetmyer has returned to the team after eight months. While many star players, including Sheldon Cottrell, have not had the opportunity.
Significantly, the West Indies suffered a 3-0 loss in the three-match ODI series against India. In such a situation, their eyes will be on ending the losing streak against India. However, it won’t be that easy for him as many star players including regular India captain Rohit Sharma return to the T20 series.
