The West Indies won by 5 wickets in the second match of the five match series against India. With this, the West Indies team has leveled the series at 1-1. But West Indies captain Nicholas Pooran is not happy with this team’s performance. Pooran has said that he needs to perform consistently ahead of the T20 World Cup in Australia.

The West Indies won over India thanks to a six-wicket run by left-arm pacemaker Obed McCoy, who bowled most impressively in T20 cricket history. He eliminated India by just 138 runs and won the West Indies by five wickets in the second match.

The 25-year-old pacemaker put on his best performance yet for the West Indies as the hosts leveled the five-match series 1-1 in the final. McCoy took 6/17 on a brilliant four spell, which was a great example of his precise bowling.

Starting pitcher Brandon King then scored the highest scoring 68 (52 balls) and successfully chased them down to help them win. Pooran said that after the match he was relieved that the West Indies had broken their losing streak.

Pooran said: “I can finally breathe now. It was a tough time. We have lost some matches that we could have won. The bowlers were fantastic, especially Obed McCoy. He used the field, the conditions and the wind very well.

Pooran further said: “The batsmen gave us a good start, and even if we stumble for a while, victory is a victory after all. I think in T20 cricket, our best batsmen will have to bat more, especially Shimron Hetmyer and myself. … But we want to keep taking responsibility. Brandon King hit really well, thought he should win the game for us, but he’ll learn from it. (Devon) Thomas (31 for 19 balls) came back from injury and played brilliantly at home.
