The trailer of Black Panther: Wakanda Forever was the great attraction of the San Diego Comic-Con 2022. In touching first images, the film by Ryan Coogler immediately wanted to pay tribute to Chadwick Bosemanthe interpreter of T’Challa, who passed away in August 2020 from colon cancer. Several big questions dotted the trailer like one of them, very important: Who will be the new Black Panther that appeared at the very end ? Marvel intends to perpetuate the tribute of his superhero by having someone take the torch, and various theories are emerging on the web, carried by different webzines, Reddit and the YouTuber Iro Sef. And the sister of T’Challa, Shurino longer seems the only option, even if, we remind you, it is she who holds the rope the most to replace her brother.
A flashback?
If we stick to the leading role ofAngela BassettRamonda in this trailer, Black Panther could very well have been her young, or her husband T’Chaka through a flashback. Going back would be useful here in the sense that the conflict between the Atlanteans and the people Wakandan will undoubtedly have to be introduced with solid sources prior to the times of T’Challa and Shuri. And this radical choice would go in the direction of the paradigm chosen by Marvel : Do not deviate from the heritage of Chadwick Boseman by de facto appointing a new Black Panther.
During production, the firm dear to Kevin Feige further assured him: Wakanda Forever will be a movie about secondary characters in the universe. Ryan Coogler could very well have done without a new iteration of the hero by summoning one last time Black Panther by a flashback contextualizing the war with the Atlanteans. If we rely even more on the images of the trailer, we see Atlanteans bring to life a character that could be Namor. Proof of this is that the film orchestrates subtle flashbacks.
The Killmonger choice?
Some sources converge more and more towards the return of Michael B.Jordan in Killmonger. When we know the capacity with which Marvel can bring its characters back to life, the character’s return no longer seems so absurd. Iro Sef paid all the more attention to the music in the trailer. In the first Black Pantherthe musical sequences “ rap took place when the villain was or arrived on screen. Here we start with the music No woman No Cry ” of Bob Marley before switching to rap music. Finally, the trailer ends with ” and when i wake up referring to the awakening of Killmonger after his death.
If we analyze the design of the costume a little more, we also notice the yellow color, predominant in the costume of the character. However, all these questions will be answered on November 9 at the cinema.
