Vodafone Fiber Reaches 5 Million Homes in Portugal with High-Speed Services

Vodafone’s high-speed fiber network now reaches 5 million homes and businesses. That’s about 80% of the total. This milestone shows the company’s commitment to digital transformation.

Luís Lopes, CEO of Vodafone Portugal, says, “Reaching 5 million homes and businesses with our fiber service proves our dedication to the country’s digital transformation. We’ve been at it for over 30 years. This helps families access knowledge, unique content, and services. It also makes businesses more competitive by giving them access to technology tools that make their operations more efficient.”

What sets Vodafone’s fiber apart

Vodafone’s fiber was recently rated the best in the country by Umlaut for download speed, latency, and stability. It offers the best TV experience. The company has made a big push in this area, offering unique equipment like the Vodafone TV Play box, which combines immersive sound and a virtual assistant.

You also get native integration with major streaming platforms like Amazon Prime Video, Max, and Disney+. There are unique features like Smart Replay, 170 channels, and premium channel subscriptions.

The fixed network supported the launch of the country’s first commercial Wi-Fi 7 smart router. It also offers services like Fiber to The Room, which brings maximum speed to every room with transparent fiber, and ultr-fast speeds of 10Gbps in Lisbon and Porto.

Vodafone’s fiber expansion strategy has led to a steady increase in fixed service customers, now over 1 million. The company continues to invest in its network, making it one of the leading fiber providers.
