This new device truly stands out with its power. Inside the Y500 is a massive 8,200 mAh battery. That’s a lot of juice, even more than some smaller tablets. It uses silicon-carbon technology to pack more energy into a compact space, reaching 847 Wh/L density. When it’s time to refuel, 90W fast charging gets the job done quickly. vivo also built in 24 layers of protection. This keeps charging safe from things like too much current, high voltage, or overheating.

Powering the Y500 is a MediaTek Dimensity 7300 chip. This mid-range processor is built on 4nm tech and runs at speeds up to 2.5 GHz. It uses OriginOS 5, which is vivo’s custom system based on Android 15. The phone’s visuals shine on a 6.77-inch AMOLED screen. It boasts Full HD+ clarity and a super smooth 120 Hz refresh rate.

You can dunk it 1.5 meters deep for over 24 hours. It even shrugs off high-pressure water up to 80 degrees Celsius. vivo also added its own 360-degree shockproof design. This helps the phone absorb impacts. Plus, a Diamond Shield glass protects the display from drops onto hard surfaces.

For capturing memories, the Y500 offers a decent camera setup. The main camera on the back is 50 megapixels with an f/1.8 lens. It works alongside a 2-megapixel depth sensor. For selfies and video calls, there’s an 8-megapixel front camera.

The vivo Y500 will first launch in China. It goes on sale starting September 5, 2025. You can pick it up in three colors: Glacier Blue, Dragon Crystal Powder, or classic Black. Prices begin at 1,399 Chinese Yuan for a model with 8 GB of RAM and 128 GB of storage. A higher-end version with 12 GB of RAM and 512 GB of storage will cost 1,999 Chinese Yuan.
