Chinese smartphone maker vivo is preparing to launch its X300 Ultra model globally in 2026, with leaks suggesting it could be the first device to feature an advanced dual 200-megapixel camera system, marking an aggressive push into high-end mobile photography.
The upcoming X300 Ultra is expected to boast a triple-rear camera setup, according to details shared by a Chinese tipster known as Digital Chat Station on the social media platform Weibo. Notably, two of these cameras are rumored to be 200-megapixel sensors.
The main camera is anticipated to have a 35mm focal length, optimized for portrait photography, street shots, and everyday use. Prior rumors indicated this primary lens would use a 200-megapixel Sony IMX90E sensor with Optical Image Stabilization (OIS).
Further bolstering its photographic capabilities, the X300 Ultra is also rumored to include a 50-megapixel ultrawide camera with a Sony LYT-828 sensor. A periscope zoom lens is expected to offer another 200-megapixel sensor, utilizing a Samsung HPB and also featuring OIS. The device may also include a 50-megapixel front-facing selfie camera.
Digital Chat Station added that the X300 Ultra is currently undergoing testing with a large, flat 6.8-inch OLED display boasting 2K resolution. The smartphone is expected to be powered by Qualcomm’s latest flagship chip, the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5, manufactured on a 3-nanometer process with an 8-core CPU capable of speeds up to 4.61 GHz.
This ultra-premium model is projected to be unveiled globally alongside the X300s in the second quarter of 2026, specifically between April and May. This launch would signify the X300 Ultra as vivo’s inaugural “Ultra” smartphone model to be released in international markets beyond China.
The X300 Ultra is expected to run on Android 16, customized with vivo’s OriginOS 6 UI software. The series’ standard X300 and X300 Pro models, featuring a MediaTek Dimensity 9500 chip, a 6.78-inch AMOLED display, a 200-megapixel zoom camera, and a 6,510 mAh battery, were introduced in China and global markets in October 2025.
