On Tuesday night he passed away. Victor Steemandue to the serious injuries that occurred after suffering an accident on Saturday in Portimao in the race of SSP330 World Superbike. The Dutchman suffered a high side at turn 14 and was hit by Pérez González, who could do nothing to avoid him. Additionally, Steeman’s own Kawasaki hit the rider, who was left lying on the gravel at Portimao.
After the crash, he was treated by the medical services on the circuit itself and later transferred to the Faro Hospital, with polytrauma and head injuries, according to the first statement. Despite the efforts of the doctors, Steeman was finally unable to overcome the serious injuries and died.
The pilot’s family, transferred from the Netherlands to Portugal after the fatal accident, made a statement: “Something you always fear as a father of a motorcycle racer has now happened. Our Victor has not been able to win this last race. Despite the unbearable loss and pain, we are very proud to share with you that our hero, through his passing, has been able to save 5 other people by donating his organs. We would like to thank everyone for the way you have shared with us over the last few days. We will miss our Víctor very much”.

Victor Steeman, 22, was competing in the Supersport 300 class (the small of the championship of the derivatives of the series) since the season 2018, after two seasons in the Red Bull Rookies. He started with KTM, went through the Dutch and German Supersupport championships in 2020 before returning to SSP300 in 2021 with KTM and Kawasaki from 2022. This was his year of consecration in the category, with 180 points scored in the first 7 days of the season and second place in the standings behind the Spanish Álvaro Díaz. In total, the Dutchman added six pole positions, the same podiums and five victories in the 42 races he has contested in SSP300. Rest in peace.
