Famalicão midfielder Tom Van de Looi said his team’s 0-1 loss to FC Porto was due to the opponent’s strong pressure and a late shortfall in luck or quality.
Van de Looi acknowledged the difficulty of the match and praised FC Porto’s performance. He stated that his team had analyzed their opponents well but struggled to escape their effective pressing tactics.
He conceded that FC Porto was the better side during the first half of the game.
Despite the early struggles, Famalicão’s performance improved in the second half. However, Van de Looi felt they still “lacked a little bit of luck or a little bit of quality” to secure a positive outcome.
He suggested that more chances might have been created with an additional striker like Abubakar. Ultimately, he concluded that “it wasn’t our game.”
