UFC Returns to Australia with Highly Anticipated Middleweight Title Fight

The Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) is set to return to Australia on August 15, with a highly anticipated event that promises to be one of the best of the year. The only fight announced so far is a middleweight title bout between Israel Adesanya and Dricus Du Plessis.

Since losing the title to Sean Strickland last year, Adesanya has taken a break from MMA, although he had initially suggested he wouldn’t return until 2027. Strickland, on the other hand, lost his title to Du Plessis in January and was not given the option of a rematch.

Adesanya had initially planned to fight Du Plessis when he was still the champion, but now Du Plessis has the upper hand.

Schedule and How to Watch the Evening

The exact schedule for the event has not been announced, but it is expected to take place between 3 and 4 am Spanish time. Eurosport users will need to subscribe to the Max platform from July to access the event.

Possible Fights

While there is only one official fight announced, several other fights are being discussed for the card. Robert Whittaker has offered to fight on the card, and a possible bout between Steve Erceg and Kai Kara-France in the flyweight division is also in the works. Dan Hooker has also expressed interest in fighting Charles Oliveira at lightweight, and Tai Tuivasa is set to face Jairzinho Rozenstruik in a heavyweight clash.
